How does My Hero Books work?

Once your order is placed, you will upload photos of your child and complete a custom questionnaire. Our creative team uses that information to create a personalized hero story and visual experience designed specifically around your child.

Do you use my child’s real photo?

Yes. We use uploaded photos as reference material to help create your child’s custom hero appearance throughout the story. We may also use AI-assisted enhancements to improve the visual experience.

What kind of photos should I upload?

We recommend clear, high-quality, well-lit photos with minimal filters for the best results. Final artwork quality depends heavily on the quality of the uploaded images.

Is every book different?

Yes. Every My Hero Book is custom-created based on your child’s personality, interests, imagination, hobbies, favorite colors, goals, and questionnaire responses.

What age group is My Hero Books for?

My Hero Books is recommended for ages 3–12, but books can be customized for all ages and special occasions.

How long does the process take?

Standard production time is approximately two weeks after final approval. Shipping usually takes an additional 3–5 business days.

Do you offer rush orders?

Yes. Rush orders are available for an additional $50 fee.

Will I get to approve the book before printing?

Yes. Every customer receives a proof approval stage before printing begins.

How many revisions do I get?

Each order includes up to 2 free revisions during the approval stage. Additional revisions or major redesign requests may require additional fees.

What comes with the standard package?

Each standard package includes one custom softcover My Hero Book. Additional merchandise and upgrades are available separately.

Can I upgrade to hardcover?

Yes. Hardcover upgrades are available for an additional $15.

What other upgrades are available?

What is the animated digital story upgrade?

For an additional $50, we can create a visually animated digital version of your child’s story experience with QR code integration throughout the book.

Can my child’s book be sold online?

Yes. Families may apply to feature their child’s book on the My Hero Books website for optional online sales and fundraising opportunities.

How does the profit split work?

If approved for online sales, families receive 70% of the profits and My Hero Books receives 30% as the publishing and production company.

How do I receive payments from book sales?

Payments are deposited into the account provided during your setup process.

Do I own the book?

Families receive personal usage rights to their child’s custom story and character experience. My Hero Books retains ownership of all branded layouts, publishing systems, templates, barcode systems, artwork formatting, and company-created design structures.

Can I reproduce or resell the book myself?

No. My Hero Books products, layouts, and designs may not be commercially reproduced, copied, redistributed, or resold outside of My Hero Books without written permission.

Will my child’s book be shown online?

Unless otherwise requested, My Hero Books may use completed books, previews, or artwork samples for promotional, portfolio, website, and social media purposes.

Are refunds available?

Due to the custom nature of personalized products, all sales are final once the design process has started.

Will the printed colors look exactly like my screen?

Not always. Printed colors may vary slightly depending on screen settings, lighting, and printing materials.

What happens if shipping is delayed?

My Hero Books is not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers, weather conditions, or damaged packages once shipped.

Can adults order My Hero Books too?

Absolutely. My Hero Books can be customized for adults, athletes, birthdays, graduations, memorials, motivational stories, and special events.

Can I order additional books later?

Yes. Additional copies can usually be ordered after your original project is completed.

Do you offer group, team, or classroom books?

Yes. Special packages may be available for sports teams, schools, classrooms, cheer groups, dance teams, nonprofits, and organizations.
