How does it works

Welcome to My Hero Books — where your child becomes the hero of their own personalized adventure. Every My Hero Book is custom-designed to create a memorable experience that inspires confidence, imagination, courage, and creativity.

Once your order is placed, you will upload photos of your child for our team to reference throughout the design process. We also use AI technology to help enhance photos and create a more magical visual storytelling experience. For best results, we strongly recommend uploading clear, high-quality, well-lit photos. Final artwork quality may vary depending on the quality of the images provided.

After your purchase, you will receive a custom questionnaire that helps us learn more about your child’s personality, interests, hobbies, dreams, favorite colors, goals, and imagination. Using your answers as inspiration, the My Hero Books team creates a personalized story and visual concept built specifically around your child. All stories are creatively written and interpreted by our team based on the information submitted through the questionnaire process.

Before printing begins, you will receive a proof approval stage to review your child’s story and overall design direction. Each order includes up to two free revisions during the approval process. Additional revisions or major redesign requests may require an additional design fee.

Once approved, we begin production on your custom book and any selected upgrades. Each package includes one custom softcover book, with the option to upgrade to a hardcover edition for an additional $15. Parents may also choose from optional upgrades, including additional T-shirts, custom merchandise, sweatshirts, posters, bags, and more hero-themed products.

We also offer an optional animated digital story upgrade for an additional $50. This upgrade includes a visually animated version of your child’s story experience, along with QR code integration throughout the book for digital interaction and sharing.

Families also have the optional opportunity to feature their child’s book on the My Hero Books website for online sales and fundraising opportunities. Participation is completely optional and not required. If approved for online sales, all book sales are split 70/30 — families receive 70% of the profits, while My Hero Books receives 30% as the publishing and production company. Payments are deposited directly into the account provided during setup.

All books, layouts, publishing systems, branded elements, formatting structures, templates, barcodes, and overall production designs are created and owned by My Hero Books. Families receive personal usage rights to their child’s custom storybook and character experience. Books, artwork, layouts, or story structures may not be commercially reproduced, resold, copied, or redistributed outside of My Hero Books without written permission.

Unless otherwise requested by the customer, My Hero Books may display completed books, artwork samples, digital previews, or promotional examples for portfolio, website, advertising, and social media marketing purposes.

Standard production time is approximately two weeks after final approval. Shipping typically takes an additional 3–5 business days once the product has been completed and shipped. Rush orders are available for an additional $50 fee. If you would like our creative team to fully handle the entire design and story-building process with minimal involvement, full-service creative assistance is available for an additional $50.

Due to the custom-made nature of all personalized products, all sales are final once the design process has officially started. Printed colors and materials may vary slightly from digital previews depending on device screens, lighting, and printing materials. My Hero Books is not responsible for shipping delays, carrier issues, weather delays, or damaged packages once items have been shipped.

My Hero Books is recommended for ages 3–12 but can be customized for all ages and special occasions. Our goal is to create an unforgettable experience that makes every child feel powerful, celebrated, and truly heroic.
